The fact that Flourcarbons are excluded from the products has been a matter of course for Brunngård for a long time. Therefore, a collaboration with Chemsec will be a fantastic step in a common direction towards more environmentally friendly product alternatives.

Brunngård has worked with sustainability for many years, it is a central and pronounced part of the company’s business concept. The goal is to minimize the impact that the company and the products have on humans and the natural resources.

A change is possible

ChemSec – the International Chemicals Secretariat – is an independent non-profit organization that works to tighten legislation around a regulation of PFAS chemicals. Several of Sweden’s largest companies stand up behind the initiative and has signed “No to PFAS”.

Highly fluorinated substances, so-called PFAS, are a collective name for a large group substances used in many everyday goods. PFAS substances cannot be degraded completely in the environment but always remains in one form or another. “No to PFAS” want to see a transition to non-toxic alternatives.

“No to PFAS” is an important step in the right direction

Brunngård developed the world’s first eco-labeled shoe care product, in addition, marked with the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation’s “Good Environmental Choice” which is one of the world’s strictest labels.

– We were also very early in excluding fluorocarbons in our own products, says Paul Brunngård. An initiative where many others followed. “No to PFAS” is an important step in the direction to seriously phasing out environmentally hazardous substances that harm health and the environment.
